My New Cosplay Blog!

Hi! It's been a while since my last post, but school has finally finished for me! :D
I've decided to split my blog into two and completely dedicate this blog to illustration work.

I haven't blogged in so long. I'm such a terrible blogger...but ah, well.

Here's an update on my unhealthy obsession with Arpakasso!（*´∀｀*）

I also started making my Ririchiyo cosplay! Inu to Boku SS has really grown on me. When I read the manga a few years ago, I didn't like it. I think growing a bit older has allowed me to appreciate the manga. :'D For now, my Ririchiyo cosplay is on hold since I need to finish my Elise cosplay for Anime North. It's really creeping up on me!

I started with one alpaca and now my family has grown to be this large! ahahahahah!

Mama is so pleased with the alpaca fam jam! ‎(●´◡`●) It's so nice to roll into a wall of alpacas instead of the actual wall when I'm sleeping. Sometimes I wake up with an alpaca in my arms and giggle a little. It's marvelous.

Ah, but my obsession doesn't end there! It's not enough that I get to hug some alpacas, I need them to be inside me as well. I am forever one with alpaca. This alpaca curry tasted pretty good. I'll make it again when I have lots of time to kill!

meet Pablo!~ DOLLS WIP

I finally received my arpakasso in the mail!  His name is Pablo. 

If I'm going to camwhore, I want to put on my cosplay makeup...and be with an alpaca. xDDD So I did a makeup test! My bangs in this picture aren't right since my webcam flips the image.

My friends and I are planning a DOLLS cosplay together for sometime in the fall. :> 

Hopefully things will go as planned and we'll have around 9 people cosplaying. I'll be cosplaying Aikawa Rami, the 2nd brigade's sassy captain. If you haven't read DOLLS by Naked Ape yet, I recommend that you do! It's an exciting psychological action series featuring Naked Ape's beautiful, grungy style.

...and to end off, Otoya alpaca. The first thing I wanted to do once I got my plush in the mail was to put my Otoya cosplay on him, hahahaa.

I went to a small, local cosplay event recently. 

There were less attendees than I expected and not many people were in cosplay. It wasn't good weather for cosplay, haha. I still had a lot of fun with my friends though! :D ...and I finally did a photoshoot for my Odin Sphere cosplay! :D

I spent around 1.5 hours outside in the cold for photos. I couldn't feel my hands during the shoot. I knocked my hands together but they were completely numb. xDD It was totally worth it though! I will upload the photos when my lovely photographer finishes editing them. :>

These photos, however, are taken by my friend, Misaki! She's so nice and sweet. Sometimes I worry if I freak her out with my weirdness. ; U ; b

...she makes me want to buy an iphone too, but to be honest, the only thing I'd use it for is Google Maps because I am extremely talented at getting lost. OTL

Cosplay Skating 2012

I went to a cosplay skating event at College Park yesterday!

It was my first time not cosplaying at a cosplay event, haha!

DTAC 2011~Starish!!

I went to DTAC for the first time this Sunday!

We didn't stay long in the actual con area because there were so many people, haha!

We ended up moving to the skywalk to take some pictures~

I'm working on a project a day schedule.
It's pretty tough....but still manageable, haha. 

Hopefully I'll have more time for personal doodling when this semester ends in around two weeks.

I started painting over that sketch of Rin I had earlier...
I'm not sure if I want to keep it a full body or crop it like so...
I drew the sketch originally as some self indulgent fanart to pass the time so I neglected to make it look interesting.... is it better like this? ; n ; arghhhhhh

Whenever I colour this sketch, he always looks really derpy.

I recently got into Ao no Exorcist!

Rinnn~~~ He is the prefect male tsundere, haha! This started a a doodle while waiting for my brother to pick me up.  Maybe I should try colouring it in...I don't really know what I want to do with this pencil drawing to make it more finished....ah well.
I bought a pretty camera recently. I hope I can coerce my friend into cosplaying Rin so I can take photos

WIP: Digital painting is really really hard.

So I finally decided to try digital painting again after a year.

The last time I painted, I got really frustrated and took a break from my work. Unfortunately, I lost my tablet which discouraged me from doing any digital work altogether.

this painting started off as Kaito...but somehow he turned into Miku during the process.
... Maybe I should have started with glazing first instead of trying to do something I'm not used to.

...and now I'm getting a little frustrated again. 

how the heck do people paint hair?

Any tips? Any suggestions or insight is really appreciated.

Belated Post: Cosplay Picnic Hijinks

A short post today!

I'm really looking forward to the cosplay picnic at High Park on October 15th so I looked at old cosplay pictures to hype myself up even more!

I made a gif of my friends and I from the Toronto cosplay picnic on June 25th, 2011.

Maaaan, I really miss Glanse (who is cosplaying doctor Kaito). ; u ;

I started making my cosplay a week before (during exam week, no less), and it was hectic!

The picnic was lots of fun and I'm really glad to have made such great friends! It's hard to find people you can instantly click with, haha~

Richmond Hill Cosplay Competition

 

I participated in a cosplay contest near the end of August. I'm cosplaying Gwendolyn from Odin Sphere. Above is a picture from the 30 second photoshoot the York BBS organizers took for each of the contestants.

There were two parts: a performance based contest do be judged on the day of, and an online contest based on votes.

 People could comment and vote anonymously on contestants' profiles so the online portion was pretty nasty. Some contestants got some pretty rude comments about their costume, face, body etc...including myself! haha!

But, the contest on the day of was a great experience. I met a lot of cool cosplayers and had a lot of fun. Oh, and I placed third. fufufufu.

I still haven't gotten good shots of this cosplay yet, so I'll think I'll get that done at the Fall Hallows cosplay photoshoot. If you're in Toronto, or close by, you should come too! It'll be fun!
